SELF PORTRAITS, (2020)
The photos were taken by my sister in my mum’s house in Bermondsey- the place that was difficult for me growing up and where I struggled with queer identity. The house is extremely full of objects and quite messy due to my mums hoarding. The process of reclaiming this hostile place through dressing up and being myself was empowering and insightful, as it was a brand-new use of the space which I never thought would have been able to happen. Its me embracing my past and not letting it rule my life anymore, and fitting back into the space in my own way, on my terms, without hiding who I am.
